Dr. C. Dassanayaka
Dr. Chainda Dassanayake, Ph.D., is a highly respected Senior Lecturer (Grade I) at the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Faculty of Management Studies, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka. Holding a B.Sc. in Hospitality Management (First Class), an MBA from Rajarata University, and a Ph.D. in Tourism Management from the University of Waikato in New Zealand, Dr. Dassanayake brings extensive expertise to the field.
Dr. Chaminda Dassanayake’s teaching proficiency spans a wide range of undergraduate and MBA courses, including Research Methodology, Research Critique, Information Systems and E-commerce in Tourism, Revenue Management in Tourism and Hospitality Businesses, Tourism Marketing, Entrepreneurship of Tourism, Introduction to Tourism and Hospitality Industry. Additionally, Dr. Dassanayake provides specialized instruction in Research Methodology for Ph.D. candidates.
Beyond teaching, Dr. Chaminda Dassanayake excels in curriculum development and review. Having chaired the department curriculum development committee and MBA curriculum development committee, Dr. Dassanayake currently holds the position of chairman of the faculty curriculum development committee. Dr. Dassanayake has played a significant role in shaping the undergraduate and postgraduate programs in national universities and institutes.
With an impressive administrative background, including former head of the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management and former director and coordinator of the MBA program at Rajarata University, Dr. Dassanayake has showcased strong leadership skills. Moreover, Dr. Dassanayake’s contribution as a reviewer for national and international journals underscores their dedication to upholding research excellence and advancing scholarly discourse.
